The practical driving test — oppkjøring in Norwegian — is the final step towards your category B driving licence. The test itself lasts up to 75 minutes and is conducted in one of Kör's cars together with your instructor and an examiner from Statens vegvesen. It begins with a safety check of the vehicle, followed by driving in real traffic covering a range of situations and road types.
At Kör, every practical driving test includes 45 minutes of warm-up driving before the examiner gets in the car. This gives you time to settle into the car, refresh key techniques and go through any last feedback with your instructor before the test begins.
You book the test date yourself on vegvesen.no. Once you have received your confirmation, forward it to
hei@koer.no as soon as possible — and no later than two weeks before the test — so we can reserve a car and instructor for you. Kör offers oppkjøring at all our locations across Norway, and new students who have not previously driven with us are also welcome to book.
Before conducting your practical driving test, make sure you have completed all mandatory courses. The first aid course must be completed before the test. If you are taking your test between 1 November and 15 March, the
dark driving demonstration (mørkedemo) must also be completed beforehand. If you take your test outside this period, you have until 31 January the following year to complete it. You can read more about the
safety check and book the
first aid course on our website.
